Last week I wrote the following letter to the Wentworth Courier following the State Govts decision to remove the trial status of the MSIC. Not so sure about using the word “ubiquitous” looking back at it.
I was very glad to hear that the Kings Cross injecting centre is to set to lose its trial status.
Surveys show it’s strongly supported by local businesses and residents. Locals would remember the ubiquitous ambulance sirens and needles in the gutters before it opened.
Most importantly it provides very useful services for injecting drug users. It would be an appalling mistake to close it.
